What is PTX Therapy™?
PTX TherapyTM returns the body to its normal standing anatomical position, or blueprint as we like to call it. The 8 major load joints of the body (shoulders, hips, knees, ankles) are directly aligned (see images below), and your spine has a natural S-curve. In this position, body weight is evenly distributed through the spine and joints and our bodies can easily handle the impact from walking, running, jumping, standing, bending, twisting, etc. This position also gives us proper muscle balance, strength and flexibility resulting in no spine and joint pain or degeneration.
Hence, we call it the Functional Anatomical Position because the body is functioning efficiently and pain free. Your body can deviate from this position for several reasons, including past trauma. Once the body starts to deviate, muscular compensation sets in, causing more deviation, and finally pain and degeneration as more stress is imposed on the muscles, spine and joints.

Hover over body points for information:
Often caused by excessive flexion in the upper spine, causing the head to be held in a forward position related to the rest of the body, and causes extra curvature to the neck making the muscles of the head, neck and jaw work overtime, and even cramp. Posture Therapy will return the whole spine to a neutral position, bringing the head back inline with the rest of the body, and creating a healthier position for the neck, allowing the muscles to relax.
One or both of the shoulder blades are pulled away from each other, or winged, and often times pulled up and forward because of excessive upper spinal flexion and/or a deviated pelvis. This causes imbalances in the rotator cuff muscles, decreasing range of motion, increasing stress on the muscles and tendons and increasing chance of injury. Posture Therapy will return the spine, shoulder blades and and pelvis to a neutral position, creating a stronger, healthier, pain free shoulder joint.
Typically caused by a shoulder blade that is winged and pulled forward causing the arm to be held in an internal position. This puts extra stress on the elbow joint and its surrounding muscles and tendons. Posture Therapy will return the shoulder blade to a neutral position by addressing the spinal and pelvic deviations that have caused the shoulder blade deviation, creating a healthier, pain free elbow joint.
Caused by a shoulder blade that is winged and pulled forward causing the arm to be held in an internal position. This puts extra stress on tne structures of the lower arm, wrist and hand, and narrows the space for the caepel nerve. Posture Therapy will return the shoulder blade to a neutral position by addressing the spinal and pelvic deviations that have caused the shoulder blade deviation, creating a healthier, pain free wrist and hand.
The normal S-curve of the spine is deviated causing muscles of the lower back to work overtime, and often contracted all the time. The spinal deviation also causes under wear and tear on the vertebrae and discs (the cushions between the vertebrae) because these structures are forced to support the body weight unevenly, eventually causing a bulge, herniation and degeneration of the discs, lateral shifting of the vertebra, and even narrowing of the space for the spinal cord. Posture Therapy will return the spine and pelvis to a neutral position, taking the stress off the lower back muscles, distributing the body weight more evenly throughout the spine, and open up the disc space.
Often caused by spinal and pelvic deviations, or even a twisting of the pelvic bones. The deviations and twisting over time can cause the vertebrae in the lower lumbar spine to shift and sometimes compress the sciatic nerve, causing pain and numbness from the back of the pelvis to the foot. Twisting of the pelvis causes the Sacral Iliac joint to move out of a neutral position causing discomfort and pain across the back of the pelvis and into the buttocks. Posture Therapy will return the spine and pelvis to a neutral position taking pressure off the sciatic nerve and returning the Sacral Joint to a functional, pain free position.
Caused by shoulder blade, spinal or pelvic deviations making the top of the leg bone(femur head) deviate from a neutral position in the hip joint. This causes the body weight to be disturbed unevenly through the hip joint, putting stress on the supporting structures(muscles/tendons/bursa). Over time this will cause cartilage degeneration in the hip joint, and pain. Posture Therapy will fix the shoulder blade, spinal and pelvic deviations which will distribute the body weight evenly throughout the hip joint, taking the stress off the supporting structures and creating a healthy environment for the cartilage to heal.
Caused by shoulder blade, spinal or pelvic deviations making the upper leg bone(femur) deviate from a neutral position, which then creates a deviation of the knee joint. This causes the body weight to be distributed unevenly through the knee joint, putting stress on the supporting structures (muscles/ACL/meniscus). Eventually, thus will cause cartilage degeneration in the knee joint, and pain. The ACL and meniscus are put in a higher risk of injury, and the knee cap tends to track incorrectly. Posture Therapy will fix the shoulder blade, spinal and pelvic deviations that are causing the deviations of the leg, which will distribute the body weight evenly throughout the knee joint, taking the stress off the supporting structures and creating a healthy environment for the cartilage to heal. Also, the ACL and meniscus will have a lower risk of injury, and the knee cap will track correctly.
Caused by shoulder blade, spinal or pelvic deviations making the leg deviate from a neutral position. This causes the body weight to be distributed unevenly through the ankle joint and then into the foot, putting stress on the supporting structures (muscles/plantar fascia) and causing pain. The stress of the body weight tends to focus onto the inner part, or arch, of the foot, eventually causing the arch to flatten out, putting stress on the plantar fascia and causing the bottom of the foot to hurt. Over time, the stress on the plantar fascia will cause a spur at the heel bone. Posture Therapy will fix the shoulder blade, spinal, pelvis, and leg deviations which will distribute the body weight evenly down the leg into the ankle joint and foot, taking the stress off the supporting structures and creating a healthy environment for the plantar fascia. This will allow the arch to eventually return to normal and take the stress off the heel that has caused the heel spur.
